Repeat previous lessons and link then with the current one by screening the scene from Road to Perdition. Discuss narrative perspective in the scene by asking - who is the main character driving the scene?
Time permitting, show the students additional scenes to challenge their understanding of narrative perspective: Son of Saul in which the filmmakers restrict the camera to follow and lead the character throughout the film, and Days of Heaven which demonstrates the difference between point of view (we understand what the character sees) and perspective (we understand their reaction to what they see).
Following a discussion, screen the following scenes to demonstrate narrative perspective in films. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (first person but not subjective, since we have little knowledge of his thoughts and emotions), Y tu mamá también showcasing an objective perspective, and All That Jazz in which the viewer is acutely aware of the character's opinions of the peopel around them (a subjective perspective).
